Able Brewing is the creation of some upcoming coffee professionals from Portland, Oregon who are seeking to simplify and improve coffee brewing devices. Their creations aspire for increased sustainability through creating reusable products and clean tasting cups of coffee. To date, the company has created two stainless steel filters. The first filter is the Able Disk, a stainless steel filter produced for the Aeropress. The second is the Able Kone, a stainless filter for Chemex pour over brewers. These stainless coffee filters not only cut down on paper waste, but also remove the paper taste from the brewing equation, producing a clean tasting, full-bodied cup.
Able DISK Filter for AeroPress is rated 4.75 out of 5 by 4.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Aeropress made even better I ordered the Able metal filters for Aeropress the week of Thanksgiving and they arrived just a few days later. Makes it even easier to use and quick to rinse off and get ready to go again for the next cup. Coffee tastes great. My only problem is I want to drink more coffee each morning. With fresh Beans from @Hoboken, the @Aeropress, and the Able filter, coffee is an enjoyable process to make and drink.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Hands down best coffee! Take it from a coffee snob - long time barista: Adding this little disk to our Aeropress has improved the coffee's taste (it was great before and now its even easier to use!)  Purchased the press last xmas for my Darling One recently added the disc for his birthday!  He uses it every day!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from All good! I bought this and a DISK-Fine, both of which are excellent alternatives to paper filters in the aeropress. I did prefer the cup from the Fine filter, but I had no problems with this one, and it seems like it will be more durable than its finer sibling.

What is the difference in thickness between the two DISK filters?

Asked by: CraigP
Hey, Craig. The Disk Fine is noticeably thinner than the original disk. It's impossible to tell without a micrometer, but we'd estimate the Original disk is about 30% thicker.
