What a Bash!

Sorry for the delay, but this is my first day back in the office since the Bash. First off... wow! What an awesome success! So many people showed up and so much great coffee was consumed. Congrats to Chris Heiniger and Kenny Smith who took first and second place in the latte art competition, and a HUGE thank you to Chris Deferio for driving down from Muncie and gracing us with his coffee expertise.
There are so many more people to thank. I'm not sure where to begin and I'm sure that I will forget somebody. Here goes, thank you to:
The guys and gals at Quills Coffee who hosted the event and were so easy to work with.
PT's coffee, Intelligentsia, La Grange Coffee Roasters, Sunergos, Red Hot Roasters, and Safai Coffee who all supplied us with plenty of coffee and espresso.
Matt Galyon, Phillip Revell, Kane Holbrook, Chris Heiniger, and Kenny Smith who did a great job brewing up that coffee for everyone all night.
Sarah, from Barista Magazine, who donated 2 1-year subscriptions for the latte art competition prizes.
Jesse Harriot and Ryan Soeder who both helped me immensely in planning the event and judged the latte art competition along with Chris Deferio.
Juan Maclean and Geoff Bugbee who both took photos of all the action.
And lastly (but not leastly) thank you to everyone who showed up and had a great time!
Overall, it was a great night. There are some good things happening in the Louisville coffee community and we hope the Bash got everyone excited and eager to keep raising the bar. Keep your eyes out for Bash 002 which will be coming up in the next few months =)

For most companies it's hard to find motivation for pushing out new products if you find yourself on top already. This is not, however, the case with La Marzocco. The Italian based espresso machine manufacturer continues to push the envelop when it comes to innovations in espresso machine technology. The newest line from La Marzocco continues their progression in the specific areas of temperature stability and pressure profiling. We've discussed the Strada Electronic Paddle version in detail in our Strada EP blog post and listing for the 2 Group Strada EP. The Strada Mechanical Paddle employs technology similar to the Mechanical Paddles on other La Marzocco models but with a few new features including individual pressure gauges, digital PID control, and dedicated group boilers.
