This is a stainless steel mesh metal filter for the Yama Siphon / Syphon vacuum brewer.

Yama

Yama has specialized in hand-blown glass brewing equipment since 1978 and they've become known for their coffee siphons and cold brew towers. The siphon brewer utilizes a heat source to boil water and push it into an upper brewing chamber, then sucks the coffee down through a cloth filter and back into the bottom chamber. Hands down, it's the most involved and captivating way of making coffee. Similar to the siphon, Yama's cold coffee dripper looks more like lab equipment than a coffee maker. It uses a slow dripping process to brew a strong concoction of coffee that's destined to be served over ice.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from stainless filter for Yama siphon... Couldn't have imagined really enjoying siphon coffee with cloth filters... hard to keep scrupulously clean, organic, yuck. I was thrilled with the idea of the metal strainer & this product fills the bill. -very clean cup of coffee--zero residue -simple to use (had to adjust the length a few mm) -simple to clean (unscrew & rinse) Siphon brewing-everything old is new again!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from yama vac pot & sst filter I was looking for an answer to a better start to my day than I was currently getting from the nasty stale coffee produced by keurig. Boy did I find it with the Yama 5cup vac pot. Once you fine tune the grind, volume of beans and water you will quickly realize what you have been missing in coffee. Thanks to Prima for my coffeeevolution. I think I am becoming a coffee snob!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Clean and effective! I've used cloth filters on a ice drip coffee system, and didn't enjoy trying to figure out how to clean them. The stainless steel filter is an amazing solution. It's easy to clean, and a secure seal. The one thing to note is that sometimes the iron mesh inside will get folder and therefore unseal the coffee. Simply being mindful of the position of the mesh resolves this.

How do I clean and store it?

Asked by: Bean
We recommend cleaning the filter in boiling water. Every couple weeks or so you may also want to use a Coffee Detergent, like Full Circle, to deep clean the fabric of its built of coffee oils. For storage, we recommend keeping the filter submersed in a container of water inside your refrigerator. This will prevent bacterial growth or mold.
