One of the top coffee grinder manufacturers has just released one of the most versatile grinders to date. With the capability of grinding from French press to espresso, the Mahlkonig Pro M provides the grinding range that would normally require two separate grinders. The grinding range combined with features like the "hands free" operation and break functionality help make this grinder ideal for both low-medium volume commercial settings and home use.

As the interest in specialty coffee continues to increase, so does the interest in brewing methods that best compliment the quality and ideals of specialty coffee. Up until this point there have been limited options when it comes to pour over brewing devices that offer both a small learning curve as well as excellent results. Garnering praise for both their calculated design and ease of use, the Kalita line of pour over brewers are helping that small list of brewers grow. The Kalita Wave Dripper is being offered in both small (1-2 people) and large (1-4 people). The small size is offered in both glass and stainless steel while the large size is offered in glass, stainless steel, and ceramic. For an overview of the unique style the Kalita Wave Dripper brings to the pour over method, a feature chart that overviews the design, technique, and advantage can be found below.

Alright, somewhat frustrating...
This is a decent enough kettle. However, the temperature control isn't quite as accurate as I'd hoped, and Pino's customer service isn't the best. It features a 90-day limited warranty (which excludes the cost of shipping to & from their facility). My kettle came with a slow leak between the base and main part of the kettle, which I noticed within a few days of acquiring it.
Despite the skimpy warranty, I thought there was a good chance that after they realized the situation was an obvious manufacturing defect they might cover the shipping to get the kettle repaired anyway. When I asked if they would, the fellow from Pino replied a bit rudely, "No, we don't cover the costs of shipping. Just like when you buy something defective from a store in town & return it, you don't ask them to cover the costs of driving it back to the store." That's a different situation for a number of reasons that are obvious. So the kettle actually wound up costing me $13 more (in shipping for a warranty repair), and it took a month after receiving the defective kettle to actually get a working one. If you have a problem with Pino's products, expect to pay for it yourself.
As far as the temp. accuracy goes, the kettle significantly overshoots the target temperature (by around 7-10 degrees depending on where you set the temp) upon first heating & reheating. It's more accurate to say it floats +/- 10-degrees around a set temperature than actually maintains the set temperature. This is less of a problem when there's a lot of water in the kettle, but still inconvenient.
All in all, if I had known this would be my experience with Pino and their kettle, I would have opted for the Bonavita variable temperature kettle instead. So it goes.
It turns out that this product is awful
In addition to the problems I noted in my original review, my kettle just died today (just a few weeks outside the 90 day warranty). It gave off a burning plastic smell, and stopped heating. I opened the bottom of the kettle and one of the electrical cords had burned through the other. My experience with this product is awful, and my experience getting any help from Pino isn't much better. I suggest getting one of the Bonavita variable temperature electric kettle. I haven't tried it yet, but it has to be better than this junk.
