SKU: AL2

ASTORIA has developed a full line of espresso machines suitable for various market demands. The Astoria Gloria is a lever operated espresso machine, which packages modern functionality in a retro exterior.

  • Astoria is one of the few manufacturers of commercial espresso machines to still offer a full line of piston (lever) operated espresso machines.
  • These dependable and affordable machines are particularly appreciated by expert baristas for brewing personalized shots of espresso.
  • This lever/manual control machine is a simply designed machine, but it requires more training than a Gloria automatic espresso machine.
  • Connecting hoses and portafilters supplied with machine.
  • If you are looking for a traditional way of brewing the best of espresso the Gloria has the look and the power to do it well.
  • This version brews coffee by releasing the spring activated lever-piston.
  • Each pull delivers a 1 oz. size espresso.
  • Please Note: Lever-action groupheads require a longer recovery time between shots in order to dissipate pressure. This machine is a great machine, but it may not be optimal for your shop with a busy drive-thru. In the case of a high traffic shop, a Gloria automatic machine might be a better fit.

Astoria Gloria AL2 2 Group Lever-Operated Espresso Machine is rated 5.0 out of 5 by 1.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Serves my purpose-Mobile espresso bar This machine is great, reliable, quiet and simple. It serves my purpose and that is why I give it a high rating.  The first thing you need to know is what kind of business you are envisioning to have. For example, this machine won't work in an environment where everyone is on the go, because it will take a bit more time to brew coffee with it. This machine is excellent for customers that are willing to smell the flowers, not in a rush, or sitting around and waiting to be served.  One great thing about this machine it's the flexibility you will have when ordering it. You can have it with 220V, 110V, propane only or propane electric (any combination). Mine is propane and 110V. The recovery time is practically non-existent IF you are plugged in, but if you are using propane only things get more complicated. When using propane only, the machine doesn't recognized how much heating is needed, therefore, the barista has to manually adjust as he/she see fit. This takes lots of monitoring and also the recovery time is a bit long.  I serve an average of 100 cups in 7 hours and the machine works great for me. I'm always plugged in (110V). When I'm setting up and have the machine running with gas and electric and once I'm at the right temperature and pressure I run the machine with electric only. When my selling volume increases, usually around 11am to 1pm I often get the propane going again, especially if is cold out.  Know your customer before buying this machine, or any machine for that matter. I have an mobile espresso bar and use my setting usually in farmers markets and fairs.

Hi, i want to purchase this machine, with the propane option. it will be in a coffee cart, and power is limited. I'm wondering what, if any power is need if it's converted to propane. thanks!

Propane conversion needs to be performed at Astorias warehouse in NC upon ordering the machine. It adds approximately 1 extra week to the lead time and incurs extra cost. For more information, please contact sales@primacoffee.com

Two questions: 1) Can this machine be left on and hot for weeks or even months at a time without cooling down? 2) Are there any parts that will wear and need replacing?

Asked by: davesoroka
Hello. Especially since this machine is commercial grade, it will be just fine when left on for long periods of time. Replacing gaskets and group screens is considered routine maintenance, and will need to be done every 6 months or so. The general cost for upkeep over long periods of time is low if the machine is taken care of properly!
