The Lever, Reinvented

In the last few years, lever espresso machines have become increasingly popular, and Flair has quickly risen to become one of the most recognizable brands on the market. With previous models all relying on an external source for heating the brewing chamber, Flair has simplified the espresso workflow by adding an integrated heating element to their 58 model. By moving to a 58mm portafilter design, Flair has also allowed for the use of a variety of third-party accessories, from VST baskets, to tampers and distributors, funnels, and several other options. The included puck screen also prevents unwanted coffee grounds from making their way into the brewing chamber, making the Flair 58 a low-maintenance and cost-effective way to create phenomenal espresso from home.

Experimentation & Control

Perhaps the most convenient feature of the Flair 58 is the pressure gauge that sits just under the lever. This puts all of the control directly in your hands. Whether you want to jump straight into 9 bars of pressure, explore pre-infusion, or experiment with lower pressure extractions, the Flair 58 is more than capable of producing the desired results with consistency and repeatability. The ability to manipulate the pressure being applied allows you to magnify the unique properties of any coffee that might be in your portafilter, extracting the desired flavors and aromas, regardless of roast profile. When paired with a high-quality scale, such as the Acaia Lunar, the Flair 58 can be dialed in to fit and replicate your favorite recipes every day. Additionally, a Stem Guider is now included with every unity to make sure that your stem is properly aligned as the lever is lowered. Watch a short video to understand how to safely use the Stem Guider.

New Heat Management

The Preheat Temperature Controller that comes standard on the Flair 58 takes guesswork out of the equation and simplifies the workflow in a way that is unparalleled on Flair's other manual espresso makers. By taking customer reviews and suggestions into account, Flair has produced what is being called the "gold standard in manual espresso". The new preheating process is a welcome addition to Flair's line of products. Just use one of the three heat settings that corresponds to your coffee's roast level, and, in just a few minutes, you'll be brewing delicious, cafe-quality espresso from the comfort of your own home.
