This is a replacement lower siphon bowl for the Yama 5 cup Stovetop Siphon. It's made of borosilicate glass, and comes with a comfy molded plastic handle.

Yama has specialized in hand-blown glass brewing equipment since 1978 and they've become known for their coffee siphons and cold brew towers. The siphon brewer utilizes a heat source to boil water and push it into an upper brewing chamber, then sucks the coffee down through a cloth filter and back into the bottom chamber. Hands down, it's the most involved and captivating way of making coffee. Similar to the siphon, Yama's cold coffee dripper looks more like lab equipment than a coffee maker. It uses a slow dripping process to brew a strong concoction of coffee that's destined to be served over ice.
Yama Siphon Bottom Glass Replacement for SY-5 is rated 5.0 out of 5 by 2.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Best coffee ever! I've experimented with many (really) different methods of making coffee, always trying to perfect a repeatable process that produced a good cup. With the siphon, I can do that. I use a glass filter, making clean up a snap. I love this coffee maker. The replacement was necessary because I am clumsy. The Prima team made it easy and quick to get the replacement and get back to making good coffee. I appreciate their efficiency.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from vac/method Hands down the vac/siphon method is the best brewing method. The only physical improvement to this model would be to make the handle in such a way that it will not be as close to the heating source. You have to be mindful and not let the plastic handle get hot.

Would be possible to use as a decanter for hario v60 01? Would it fit?

Asked by: geremias
It's a fun thought, but unfortunately, the V60 wouldn't fit properly. The opening in the bottom carafe is too small.
