This is an upper siphon bowl made of borosilicate glass, a replacement part for the Yama 5 cup Stovetop Siphon.

Yama

Yama has specialized in hand-blown glass brewing equipment since 1978 and they've become known for their coffee siphons and cold brew towers. The siphon brewer utilizes a heat source to boil water and push it into an upper brewing chamber, then sucks the coffee down through a cloth filter and back into the bottom chamber. Hands down, it's the most involved and captivating way of making coffee. Similar to the siphon, Yama's cold coffee dripper looks more like lab equipment than a coffee maker. It uses a slow dripping process to brew a strong concoction of coffee that's destined to be served over ice.

Great customer service

Quality product, fair price. Very durable (except when you drop it on a hard floor...) The best customer service ever. That's what keeps me coming back to Prima for my equipment.

Perfect fit!

This was a replacement dome for my Yama Siphon, which I unfortunately broke. It works great.

Exactly what it says it is, and at the best price I could find

I got the Yama SY-5 stove top coffee siphon for my birthday and the second time I used it, I chipped the glass of the most functional portion, the glass tube of this top portion. I ordered a new one in case I could not find an appropriate adhesive and fix the marred piece. I was able to fix the chipped one, but the new one lets me feel a bit safer with a replacement at hand. Fits the SY-5, and works just as well as the original. But as the original, very fragile and, from experience, I would suggest washing it after it has cooled a bit rather than when it is hot and (even more) brittle. The siphon itself makes a clean cup and is a great party trick and fun to explain the way it works using words from high school chemistry like its your job.

Yama replacement glass

My husband broke the glass right before Christmas and I fully expected to have to wait for quite a while to get the replacement ,but it came in just a few days. He is a 'coffee snob' and LOVES the coffee that the Yama makes. I don't think he could live without it now. Thanks for the speedy service!

Prima-Coffee was great; but Yama quality is on the decline

I originally purchased my Yama siphon pot maybe 5 years ago and I have been very pleases with it. When I dropped and broke the top portion of my coffee maker, I knew I had to replace the part ASAP. I purchased the replacement from Prima-Coffee and their part was flawless. The delivery came quickly, and the packaging was secured to ensure delivery in piece. Thank you Prima!! But the moment I pulled the new device out of the box, I recognized immediately that the quality had gone down substantially from years ago. The replacement part feels like it weighs maybe half as much as the original, and the piece just feels flimsy. When I made my first pot with the new top, I had a problem where the gasket didn't seal nicely with the lower pot. Fortunately, I had kept the original gasket from the top I broke, and I swapped them out. This improved the seal. So in conclusion: 5 stars for Prima-Coffee, but way less stars for Yama and their scaling back of quality.
