Video Overview | Protonea Senger Espazzola Grouphead Cleaning Tool
Hey folks, it's Steve with Prima Coffee here. Today we're going to take a look at the Espazzola group-head cleaning tool. This is a fantastic, and very easy to use tool that's pretty innovative and one of those things where you're like, "Why didn't we think of it first?" Basically, it's a portafilter shape group-head cleaning tool. It's made of a BPA-free plastic and it has this silicone sort of brush insert. It's really, really interesting. It's a great design, and it makes it really, really easy to clean your group-heads with a quick little scrub. You can even throw in a detergent pellet if you have one. You know, like a Cafiza pellet, or something like that. Throw it in there, get a little hot water on it, and use that to scrub your screens a couple times during service if you're a café or during your regular cleaning cycle at home, or what have you.

It's designed to fit most 58 millimeter or commercial size group-heads. It's basically just this plastic, portafilter design. It's designed to lock into your group-head, turn the water on, give it little scrub back and forth. Water will flow in and around all these surfaces, get a nice pool around your dirty surfaces and these soft, silicone bristles, for lack of a better term, will give a gentle scrubbing, remove debris and keep everything nice and clean for you. There's also another cool little feature. There's this hex-shaped drain tube, so if you have a small hex bit like a slotted bit for your group-head screws, you can stick it right in here and use this guy as a quick little wrench to undo your dispersion screens and get everything dropped and cleaned. So let's take a look at how this works. I've just got my La Marzocco Linea here. I'm going to run a little bit of water first, just to kind of get everything wet, then I'm gonna lock this guy in . Really easy. Turn the water back on, and then once I see water flowing out, I'm just going to give it a quick scrub back and forth. Just maybe five to ten times. Turn my water off, let everything drain. I'll just dump out the excess water there.
Now I see the evidence of my work and that I've got a little bit of black, kind of goo, stuck to this. You can give that a rinse and drain it off. You can give this guy a soak in Cafiza or something like that with your portafilters and baskets at the end of the day. Keep it nice and clean. You can even throw it in the top rack of your dishwasher if you like. So very, very easy to use. Very easy to clean. These silicon pieces actually are removable and replaceable. As you know, over time they get threaded up and wear out, you will be able to replace them and get fresh ones. Again, just a very nice design. Obviously designed for cafés to use and keep everything nice and clean. But, of course, if you want to use one at home it would be a great tool to add to your arsenal. That is the Espazzola group-head cleaning tool. Thanks for watching.
