Video Overview | Pullman Filtration Basket
Hey, friends. Caleb here with Prima Coffee. Today, we're going to be taking a look at the Pullman filtration basket. It's a precision portafilter basket that Pullman has added to their entire system going along with the Pullman Chisel and the Big Step Tamper. The filtration basket fits perfectly in standard La Marzocco Portafilters. And then you can groom it with the chisel kind of like that. You can adjust this for depth. And then use the big step tamper, which is really what this was designed for within mind, but so it just fits perfectly in there. The Pullman filtration basket is 58.70 millimeters, which is actually hand measured to ensure consistency. Now if you have…let's say you have a three group espresso machine, if you're using some standard portafilter baskets, you might have just some slight differences. There might be, you know, rather than being consistently fit to 58.7 maybe it's 58.5 or 58.6, something like that.

But with the Pullman basket, you're going to have a much, I mean, consistent basket size, so you're going to have much more consistent yields. On top of just basket size, the diameter, you're going to have consistent holes in the bottom. They're, yeah, just going to be the same size. You're going to have to eliminate over extraction as much as possible. The Pullman basket comes in…Prima has it in two different sizes. We have the 17 to 19 gram basket, and the 19 to 22 gram basket. Really what those numbers are is kind of the ideal range for those two baskets. You might be able to get a little bit more, a little bit less into each one, but, yeah, so there are two different sizes. This is here is the 17 to 19 gram basket. But, yeah. So if you're looking to up your game, to add some more precision to your espresso pulling, you should check out the Pullman precision basket. And so that's the Pullman filtration basket. Thanks for watching.
