Fresh from the vaults of innovation, the Forté has arrived. So what's the chatter about? This review will get you close and cozy with Baratza's newest grinder, where you'll find out if it's really hot stuff — or all hype.
Baratza has announced the release of their newest entry-level home coffee grinder. The Baratza Encore (more on this in a bit) has taken the Maestro Plus’s spot as the baddest entry-level home grinder on the planet. This announcement is bittersweet for me, as this means saying goodbye to the Maestro name. I (Matt) have been the proud owner of a Baratza Maestro for almost two and a half years now. It has been the best coffee investment I’ve made (or rather my wife made on my behalf when she gave it to me as a Christmas present). It has been the perfect home coffee grinder for the ridiculous variety of manual brewing devices I own. For someone who didn’t need a grinder for espresso, the Maestro has been perfect.
The Baratza Forté is the newest coffee and espresso grinder on the planet – what in the world is it all about? We've pitted it against some classics and peeked under the hood to help get the word out: this grinder's got guts!
It's quite the claim, but we say "yes!" In this review, we investigate Baratza's promise and see if an espresso grinder can actually be bought for this astounding price.
Making an appearance at the SCAA's National Event in Houston in a couple of weeks will be Compak's new line of Fresh Grinders. This line, and specifically the K-10 Fresh, has piqued a lot of interest in the coffee world over the past few months. We've gathered as much information as we can about this grinder and wanted to update everyone as to what we've found out.
Over the past couple of years I've experimented with many different brewing methods. The one brewing method that captivated me when introduced to it and the one which I keep running back to when I want to be able to count on a good cup of coffee is the Siphon. The Siphon is a somewhat rare and slightly intimidating brewing device. As for rare, we've put together a review on the siphon which should help you become more familiar with this brewing device.
We get a lot of questions about Hario's Skerton and Mini Mill. How are they different? Which is better? Is one preferable to the other for my home, my office, my travels? Here's everything we know.
