Yama

Yama has specialized in hand-blown glass brewing equipment since 1978 and they've become known for their coffee siphons and cold brew towers. The siphon brewer utilizes a heat source to boil water and push it into an upper brewing chamber, then sucks the coffee down through a cloth filter and back into the bottom chamber. Hands down, it's the most involved and captivating way of making coffee. Similar to the siphon, Yama's cold coffee dripper looks more like lab equipment than a coffee maker. It uses a slow dripping process to brew a strong concoction of coffee that's destined to be served over ice.
Yama Coffee Vacpot 5 Cup Tabletop Siphon/Syphon is rated 5.0 out of 5 by 3.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Beautiful and amazing coffee I was introduced to siphon brewing through a friend, and I fell in love with the elegance and simplicity of the brewing system. I wish they had a bit more clear instructions within the box, but examples of siphon brewing are readily available online(mind you not to let the water get much hotter than 202 degrees for risk of burning the beans). Another important thing: many videos I watched showed putting the hot top glass flask into the plastic holder. I chipped the siphon tube of my cylinder by doing that. Make sure to first remove the spring loaded filter clip from the tube, and then you can let it sit in the plastic flask holder. Happy brewing!

After brewing, does the unit have to be dismantled in order to pour a cup of coffee?

Asked by: dibs
Hello. That's correct. You'l need to separate the top chamber from the bottom bowl, then use the bottom bowl as a carafe.
