We are very excited to introduce the Bonavita Automatic Coffee Brewer with stainless carafe! The Bonavita brewer is one of only a handful of home brewers to be certified by the Specialty Coffee Association of America (SCAA), and at a very accessible price. The Bonavita features a shower head "trickle" design for a more even coffee bed saturation, leaving no dry, under-extracted spots in the bed. Also, the Bonavita is a reliable water delivery system, maintaining optimal and consistent water temperature during the entirety of the brewing process. The problem with nearly all automatic home brewers is that they do not reach a hot enough temperature to brew coffee, most not getting higher than 175-190 degrees. Our tests revealed a consistent 200-203 degree bed temperature and constant 205 degree water temperature at the brew head. The Bonavita brewer is ideal to serve as a replacement for inconsistent and inferior quality automatic home brewers, for coffee geeks at home wanting a quality option for brewing coffee for guests, and for offices looking for a better option than the "K-cup" machine in the break room. The stainless carafe on this model is great for keeping coffee warm for a couple of hours, and for travel! For our glass carafe Bonavita brewer model, see our Bonavita Automatic Coffee Brewer listing.

Bonavita

Bonavita is a newcomer to the specialty coffee scene in the U.S., but their products will by no means let them go unnoticed for long. Bonavita's first product offerings fill a much needed gap in affordable specialty coffee brewing gear for the home. It is because of both the quality and affordability of Bonavita's products that we are bringing in two completely new products for our coffee loving customers. The first of these is Prima Coffee Equipment's first ever offered automatic home coffee brewing machine. While there are a couple of brewers on the market that could stand up to our quality standards for a home brewer, they were too expensive. Bonavita's automated coffee brewers offer the same quality of the more expensive brewers at a fraction of the cost. The second unprecedented product offering from Bonavita is their electric pour over brewing kettle. With the indefinite delay of the electric Hario Buono Kettle, the Bonavita Electric Gooseneck Stainless Kettle is the first of its kind. Like the automated coffee brewer, this pour-over kettle is cheaper than other pour-over or electric hot water kettles. We're extremely excited about these new products and look forward to more from Bonavita.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great cup of coffee I bought this coffee maker a year ago to replace a Bunn I'd been using for 10 years. It is a 'Plane Jane' in appearance but makes a very good cup of coffee. On top of good coffee two things stuck out immediately. The Bunn was fast but I didn't realize how much coffee I was using to get a good cup. Using the same amount in the Bonavita was almost to strong to drink. The second was the carafe. I've bought several I didn't care for over the years but this one the lid spins on and off with one finger and doesn't leak when pouring. Not only do I recommend it, I just sent one as a present to a friend.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent Coffee with a Minor Design Flaw My Moccamaster died and I decided to replace it with Bonavita. It does make great coffee and like some of the features like the wide mouth, glasss lined thermos and the compactness of the unit. Moreover, it makes hot fresh coffee. The only thing I ran into when I made full pot with a good quality filter, the coffee overflowed because the liner with the extra coffee plugged up the hole and would not let it drain. I solved the problem by using a gold filter which I used a lot with the Moccamaster. Excellent coffee for the price.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from I used it twice and the glass broke. I was ever so careful with this new precious gift. I heard wonderful things about how efficient it would be and how hot the coffee would stay. I read all the instructions about how to take good care of it and avoid breaking the glass. I don't understand how something so expensive isn't more solid!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent brewer features for this price Since becoming a coffee roaster professionally, three years ago, I have been researching which brewer could replace my old brewer and still be cost effective. This brewer does that! I was pleased to note evidence that the grinds had achieved a bloom, the taste of the brewed coffee shows the subtle notes I was expecting from the beans, and the thermal carafe holds the coffee temperature for about three hours. I'm beyond pleased and understand now why this brewer is recommended by so many :)

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Nice brewer I have had this for a week now... The heat is appropriate (measured with an instant read thermometer), the saturation of the grounds is even. And, it's faster than my Bunn Phase Brew (the heating process is different). I'm not sure if the cone basket vs flat basket is making a huge difference, but I don't have it dialed in yet. As a coffee roaster, I taste a lot of coffee, and this does a good job at a great morning cup.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Coffee that tastes like coffee!! When our favorite maker finally gave up, we searched for a replacement with several mis-steps resulting in the "dishwater" phenomenon. A search online yielded a review in "Cooks Illustrated" which named the Bona Vita as best buy and explained the importance of brew temperature and time. We love our new Bona Vita - ease of use, great thermal properties in carafe, an d good, strong coffee every time.

Does this have an automatic timer, i.e I want to set up my brew the night before and have my coffee ready when I wake up.

Asked by: lonewolf02
Hello. The Bonavita brewers do not have a timer system. They only have an on/off switch.

Does Bonavita offer replacement thermal carafes? I just read your answer regarding the glass lining, and so now I am wary to purchase. Glass and I do not play well together. Cost for this carafe?

Asked by: glendaroo
Hello, Yes, the Thermal Carafe is available upon request. Give us a call for more info.

I had a Technivorm coffeemaker; it quit working even with a descaling schedule. Lot of money to have it go down!! Do you have a product to clean the Bonavita, and how often do you recommend? Has this been a problem with this brand?

Asked by: KPhoeb
Hello. We recommend using Dezcal Activated Descaler to clean a Bonavita Brewer. Simply add the powder to your water chamber, and run a few brew cycles! We hear of very few issues with Bonavita brewers in general.
