Compared to other synchronized grinding approaches that adjust after each shot, C-AUTO uses real-time flow and pressure data to command the GXW 85 grinder during extraction, shortening the delay before the next shot is properly adjusted.

The smart portafilter serves as the recipe identifier, allowing each portafilter to carry its own customized dose weight and extraction profile. This profile includes target brew volume, pre-infusion parameters, group brew temperature, and shot timing. Thanks to the clever use of a heat exchanger with individual PID control at each group, the VOL XT delivers precise, independent temperature profiling across all groups without the size, weight, and high energy consumption of traditional dual- or multi-boiler systems.
