If you need a well-made and reliable hand grinder that excels at espresso, you needn't consider anything but a LIDO. Orphan Espresso's LIDO grinders have a reputation for grind quality that's as stellar as their build quality, and the E-T packs fine-tuned adjustment for espresso into a travel-friendly package. The folding handle tucks in for easy packing into the included neoprene carrying case, and both a hex wrench and natural bristle brush fit neatly into stitched pockets. The metal body components are made of chrome-plated aluminum, with a 48 mm conical steel burr set and a fine threaded adjustment that's ideal for dialing in espresso. A 70 gram hopper and 100 gram catch jar offer plenty of capacity to grind for anything from single espresso doses to larger drip brews.

LIDO grinders feature superb construction, with dual bronze bearings to stabilize the grinding axle and cut out almost all the burr wobble. The key components are made of metal, with a plastic hopper and antistatic plastic grinds catch bin. A rubberized handle up top is easy and comfortable to grip, and the rubber hopper stopper keeps your beans from popcorning out while grinding. These are excellent grinders all in all, but there is a catch: grinding by hand is not for everyone, and even though the LIDO grinders are fast at about 1-3 gram per second, some will still prefer the ease of pushing a button on an electric grinder. So if you're into making your coffee by hand each step of the way, you're going to love a LIDO!

Please note -- The included Ball Driver is for use on the main shaft only. A 2.5mm Hex Key is required for all other screws!

Lido E Review

I have only use the grinder for a few weeks. It has solid construction and has produced consistent grind sizes. The only complaint I would have is that there is burr rubbing straight out of the box. I realigned the burrs, which helped, but there is still burr rub (around the espresso grind range). I have read online and hope that as the burrs break in, the rub will go away. If not, I will contact Prima Coffee or Orphan Espresso.

Works well

Grinder works as expected. Only gripe would be taking it apart. But for the quality of the grind it’s nice to know the pieces are fitted well.

Beautifully engineered machine

The Lido ET grinds pretty fast for a manual grinder, in part due to the size of the conical burrs. It's designed and engineered very nicely. It is fairly compact in size. Adjusting for grind size is easy as is breaking it down for cleaning. I've had three other manual grinders and this one is definately my favorite.

Just what I expected!

For a long time I've seen this grinder recommended for espresso at a low budget, and I finally got around to trying it. Extremely consistent grinds and (relatively) compact-sized for travel. Definitely a workout to start the day, though.

Killer combo w/flair espresso

I’m loving having access to espresso at work...and home with this combo. Dialed in the grind at 8.5 with the flair espresso and it’s game on. Great build quality and it grinds much quicker than my old hario mini.

Awesome Product!

After extensive research i pulled the trigger on Lido ET and man it was worth it.. grind consistency and speed is top notch. Just one problem that im facing and quite annoyed about is the ET handle became abit loose in just 2 weeks of use.. while grinding/rotating, it unlocks itself and have to reposition the handle again.. happens 1-2 times per light roast grind. I hope there is a fix for it :(

Lido E-T

I like my lido. It's like being able to take my Preciso everywhere with me!

Lido E-T is fantastic

I ordered this particular model because of the flexibility in grind fineness as and portability. This grinder works great for pour over and anything else you could want it to grind. The build is super super solid because of the two bearings (one at the top of the shaft and at the bottom near the burrs). Really highly recommend.

Great choice for my first hand grinder!

It's taking a little while to hit the sweet spot that I'm looking for, but I'm impressed with how smoothly it does the job. Easily produces consistent grinds as well as my Baratza Preciso. I took it to the beach for a week during a family vacation, and it was great to have fresh ground beans for my Bonavita immersion brewer. I love the bombproof construction, and the fact that I can replace worn parts as it ages. Awesome product, and quick shipping. Thanks Prima coffee!

High Quality Grinder

I, using the same descriptive term as other reviewers, also pulled the trigger on this. It was a hard decision between this, a Virtuoso or a Sette 30. The build quality and consistently perfect grinds was the deciding factor. Living in the jungle in Central America with often sketchy electricity was the ultimate deciding factor. When I received my E-T I was a little dismayed by the effort required and not looking forward to waking up at 4AM to struggle with anything before coffee though after a couple of pounds have gone through there is very little effort. 50g coarse for Chemex and 20g for espresso and Aeropress both take about 100 turns and one minute to accomplish, about the same time it takes the kettle to heat. Although I like it very much it is a bit large for my small travel bag and will soon but an Aergrind for overnight trips.

love it!

I use a super jolly at home, and wanted similar grinding while camping. this worked perfect. 40 seconds for fluffy grinds matching what i get from the mazzer. It really works great. A different taste than the flat burrs, but I really like it. I wIll be using it at home now also, alternating with the sj.

Fantastic Product

After much research and contemplation, I purchased the Lido E-T as my primary grinder. I spent the previous year using the Hario Skerton as my primary grinder. While the Skerton was sufficient for pour over, it failed at producing an adequate espresso grind. The Lido E-T is a fine piece of equipment. It produces consistent grinds, either for espresso or french press. It is easy to clean and looks amazing on my coffee nook.
