Video Overview | Marco MT Series Countertop Water Boilers
I’m Ryan from Prima and this is the Marco MT8 countertop water boiler.
You might think there’s not much room for innovation in the water boiler category anymore, but Marco’s MT boiler series has really impressed us with its unique approach to maintaining temperature stability, liter after liter. Especially if you’re looking for a solid 110v countertop boiler, stick around because we think this boiler is for you.
The MT series is available in a few different sizes and power configurations. This is the MT8, which features a 2.1 gallon boiler and immediate draw-off capacity, with an hourly capacity of either 3.8 or 7.3 gallons depending on if you’re running 110v or 220v. There is also a smaller MT4 model with a 1 gallon boiler and immediate draw-off capacity, as well as the MT25 with a 6.6 gallon boiler. For more info on available models, specs and hourly capacities, check out the link in the description.
The MT allows single degree programmability between 140F and 205F, and features a familiar spigot design that acts just as you’d expect, allowing hands-free pouring when pulled forward or momentary bursts when tapped backward. Installation of the MT is incredibly simple. Included in the box is a removable 3/4" BSP fitting, which can be adapted to the included 1/4" quick-connect (John Guest) fitting.
The MT operates in one of two modes which are “Step Fill” and “Continuous Fill”, and this is where the secret to its temperature stability lies: Unlike most countertop boilers that refill with ambient water continuously as water is drawn, leading to big temperature fluctuations, Step Fill mode refills the MT boiler in 3-second bursts with a 9 second pause. So every 12 seconds the boiler is refilling with a small amount of water in a short cycle. This allows the MT to maintain an incredibly stable temperature at all times, because the unit is given just enough time to recover temperature after each fill cycle. This means you can pour cup after cup, or fill kettle after kettle, while maintaining the same temperature you started with.
This intelligent refill method maintains stability, but it also means that once you reach the immediate draw-off capacity—which is 2.1 gallons for the MT8—you’ll need to wait for it to refill before dispensing more hot water.
When switched to ‘continuous fill’ mode, this unit operates just like a traditional water boiler, where every drop of water drawn from the boiler is immediately replaced with ambient water. The result is endless water capacity, but with significant temperature swings, especially when you’re drawing larger amounts of water. The flexibility that these two modes provide you is what we love about the MT boiler. It allows you to prioritize what’s most important to you, whether it be temperature stability or volume.
So if you need a boiler that thoughtfully balances precision and capacity, the MT series has you covered. For more info be sure to check out the link in the description. Happy brewing
