SKU: Cona Rod
Siphons or ‘vacuum pots’ are known to be one of the most involved and high-maintenance brewing devices available. The time-consuming ritual of cleaning and storing cloth filters for daily use can be tedious for some. For those seeking to simplify the process the Cona Draining Rod may be your siphon’s redemption. The Cona Draining Rod, compatible with all Hario, Yama, and Cona siphon brewers, is a single-piece glass filter that replaces the standard filter assembly, fitting loosely inside of the siphon's top chamber. When in place, its finely textured surface acts as a filter that is comparable to metal mesh. The Cona promotes a slightly fuller bodied cup than cloth and paper filters, but also offers remarkable cleanliness in the cup. The best part? Cleanup is a breeze. Remove the filter, give it a quick rinse, and it’s ready to be used again in seconds. Just make sure you wait long enough for the glass rod to cool down before removing.

Beginning as an import/export company in the 1850s, Cona became well-known for their original, all-glass Cona Coffee Machine, created in about 1910. This siphon brewer received a redesign in the 1960s and has been sold worldwide ever since, particularly to the specialty coffee community. Cona Ltd. stopped trading in 2018, but Classicona has taken over their website and will continue to retail the Cona vacuum brewers and spares.
