The Kalita Wave Filters give the Kalita Wave Drippers their style and functionality. The filters are designed to sit suspended above the bottom of the dripper while increasing temperatures stability by keeping most water contact away from the outer wall of the dripper. We recommend thoroughly rinsing each dripper before use. This can be done by pouring hot water directly into the middle of the filter, until the water fills to the top, and let it drain back out.

Kalita

Kalita is a Japanese based company that specializes in producing coffee brewing equipment. Most notably they are the creators of the Kalita Wave Dripper and Kalita Wave Kettle. The Kalita Wave Dripper brings an innovative design to the pour over process with its wave filter and flat-bottom geometry. The wave filter helps temperature stability by keeping the water away from the brewer material and using air as an insulator. The flat bottom geometry helps provide an even extraction.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Very fast delivery I found these coffee filters rather by mistake. I had been using Melita cone and I love these so much! They are easy to use and the coffee tastes great. I bought them initially at a store about an hour from my home. I bought these online so I wouldn't run out in case I couldn't get to that store again, and to my surprise they arrived in a few days. I was expecting a 7 - 14 day delivery and was not in danger of running out. I thought the shipping was rather high and the packaging was very basic.. . . . the filters were tossed in a brown box and sent to me! No wrap, no stuffing, just the filters in a brown box. One doesn't need more than that, so why is the shipping so high?

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Fluted. A flat bottom brewer and fluted filters sounds just like the inside of a Mr Coffee. But this is quality. These filters are made of some if the highest quality paper, creating such little paper, if any at all. These filters are thicker than most, creating a pure and smooth cup of coffee. The flutes (WAVES) are intentional.. Encouraging the water down and not on the brewer walls. The quality and necessary purpose of these filters are what make paying 10 dollars.. Worth it

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Underwhelming, but usable These filters can be a challenge to hold their shape during storage. Once they lose their shape, they are pretty much unusable. I have found storing them in a 12 ounce coffee mug solves the problem. Some Kalita enthusiasts claim these filters do not require rinsing. My experience has been the exact opposite. To my taste, these filters impart a very strong paper taint to the final brew if unrinsed. Even during a pre-rinse, the odor can be quite strong.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from My favorite pour over The kalita wave filter was my first home pour over system, given as a gift. After purchasing many other methods and pour over options I still believe this is the best filter and way to brew coffee. Hands down! I also feel it should be the method use at coffee shops with lazy baristas. It's nearly full proof for an Awesome cup every time.... Granted found properly and the right ratio. The cost is little matter due to the quality of this product.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Kalita Wave Filters Great service. The 185 size filters are often hard to find. These arrived very fast and when you have a Kalita Wave, you gotta have filters. btw. the wave is going to give you some really nice coffee. Try brewing with the same amount of coffee and water and a pour closer to what you used with your V filter. I like the taste produced this way better than the on-line wave instructions.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Wildly expensive The product works great but the price point is quite the pill to swallow

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Kalita Wave baby. I've been using the Kalita Wave for some time now and believe it to be easy and produce the fullest flavor of any method I've tried before. The Kalita kettle helps obtain a 3-min. pour without going fine. Love this method and thank Prima for always seeming to have the filters available.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Kalita Wave Filter Good and even flow. The bottom layer of the filters splay out wide and don't maintain their shape very well. Therefore when you put them in the cone you have to struggle to maintain the accordion shape. Often times I have to toss them because they cave in.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Product - and price matched! I love the Kalita, but finding non-imitation filters is hard. Prima Coffee carries the real deal and will match any competitors price, including shipping. Shipped very well and on time, I couldn't ask for anything more.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from It Doesn't Get Any Better Than Prima Prima. In the Italian language it means "first". What it means to me is: When I need something "coffee-related"--I will come to Prima. They offer excellent products at superb prices and provide outstanding service.

What is the difference between the brown and the white versions?

Asked by: David
Hey, David The brown filters are actually discontinued on their own, but are still included with the "Kalita Wave Style Set". White filters are "bleached" using an oxygenation process, and brown filters are simply "unbleached". Brown filters tend to impart more of a papery taste in the cup, while white filters tend to be very transparent. It's really a matter of user perception, but the white ones aren't going to hurt you at all.
