It is the smallest direct-plumbable espresso machine in our catalog, and offers extremely good value for anyone putting together a home coffee bar or a starter coffee cart setup. The Oscar features 2 time-based shot programs, a 58mm group head, a 2L copper Heat Exchange boiler and outstanding milk texturing. For anyone chasing flawless microfoam for latte art at home without breaking $2,000, trust us on this one!
Turbo Heat Exchange
The Oscar II is equipped with a 2L copper heat exchanger featuring Nuova’s new “Turbo” heating system, allowing simultaneous brewing and steaming and surprisingly quick recovery for a 120v machine of this size. Paired with an articulating 4-hole steam wand, it can steam a pitcher of milk in approximately 15 seconds, outperforming many pricier dual boiler machines in milk texturing.
In our testing, the Oscar II consistently maintained brew temperatures between 197-204F, staying on the lower end when brewing shots only, and climbing towards the upper range when brewing and steaming consecutive drinks. Though the Oscar may not offer the same temperature precision as a dual boiler, it makes up for it in steaming capability, easily crushing 1 hot milk-based drink every 2 minutes.
