Extraction Expertise
The Technivorm KBT distinguishes itself with features like a 40oz (10 cup) thermal carafe and a manual drip-stop built into the basket, which allows the user to slow or completely stop the flow of water to prevent a mess after brewing. This feature also allows for an extended pre-infusion or brew time, perfectly accommodating your coffee and grind size by increasing extraction potential. Like all Technivorm brewers, the KBT is certified by the Specialty Coffee Association according to the Golden Cup Standard, which promises high brew temperatures between 196-205 degrees fahrenheit and a showerhead that promotes an even extraction of the grounds.
One-Touch Operation
Brewing a full pot of coffee with the Technivorm KBT couldn’t be any easier — simply place a Melitta #4 Filter in the brew basket, add an appropriate volume of water to the reservoir and flip the power switch. The KBT will brew a full 40oz pot of coffee in 4-6 minutes then automatically disengage the power when the water has run out. The steel thermal carafe will keep your coffee hot for over an hour, allowing you to take your time and enjoy every cup slowly! The KBT includes no active heating plate, allowing the coffee to cool down naturally and preventing burned flavors.
