Breville’s Thermocoil system heats up only the amount of water necessary to perform the next action, allowing the machine to heat up and transition from brewing to steaming in just seconds, allowing the user to keep the machine turned off when not in use.

Volumetric Programming
Using the single and double buttons on the front panel and the integrated flow meter, programming shot volume volumetrically is simple, and one of the best features in the Barista Express. Volumetrics allow one touch brewing and help ensure that the same amount of espresso is brewed each time. A careful eye or a brewing scale aren’t necessary here – simply set and forget and the Barista Express will consistently deliver the same volume of espresso each time you brew.
