Expectations Surpassed
Gooseneck kettles have become synonymous with brewing delicious coffee in commercial and home environments over the last two decades. However, Fellow Products took things up a notch by introducing the Stagg EKG+: a variable temperature kettle for true control over brewing temperatures. Now, Fellow is bringing more to the table with some incredibly thoughtful upgrades to their flagship model with the release of the new, Stagg EKG Pro electric kettle.
A Classic, Redefined
The Stagg EKG kettles have always been streamlined and aesthetically pleasing while maintaining design choices that aided in the use of these kettles, and the Stagg EKG Pro still hits those marks. The EKG Pro makes use of a counterbalanced, ergonomic handle for comfort, as well as control when pouring. Few electric kettles are able to keep up with the Stagg EKG Pro where precise slow or fast pours are concerned. Adding to the Stagg EKG Pro’s design is a new lid with a gasket seal, ensuring that you’re retaining as much heat as possible when the kettle is no longer on the stand.
Mindful Updates
The Fellow Stagg EKG Pro boasts several updates and upgrades to its predecessor, making it the new benchmark for electric kettles. Just a few of the most useful updates are: a clock and scheduling mode, a guide mode for water temperature optimization, altitude adjustment, a pre-boil function, a chime feature with volume adjustment, a new, full-color display, and hold options for 15, 30, 45, or 60 minutes. The EKG Pro still has a capacity of 0.9L (900mL), and the temperature is still changed via the rotary knob on the kettle’s base and can be done so in either Fahrenheit or Celsius modes. And, of course, you can still play “Bricky” on the base of the kettle.

So when you hear there are different ideal characteristics for your filter coffee water and espresso, you may feel like throwing in the towel and giving up. And hey, we hear you, and that's why we’ve done some of the grueling work for you.
Basic Coffee Brewing Principles
The basics of how to brew coffee at home. How to choose your coffee beans, use good water, and find the right recipe.
But Really, Why Gooseneck?
Hot, nearly boiling, water is a necessity for brewing coffee. It’s that hot water that makes contact with the grounds and begins the delicate extraction of flavors and aromas from your favorite coffee. Yes, this may seem like basic information, but details such as how much of that water, at what temperature, and for how long it’s in contact with the coffee, is what plays a huge role in the evenness of extraction. The easiest way to achieve this, is to brew with a gooseneck kettle.
