Markibar Izaga W: Grind-By-Weight + Instant Pre-Dosing

Most espresso grinders dose by time, which means every time you adjust your grind size, your dose weight changes with it. The Markibar Izaga W eliminates that variable entirely with true grind-by-weight dosing. It measures actual coffee output in real time rather than relying on a timer, so every dose hits your target weight regardless of adjustments you make throughout the day.

The Izaga W offers two main operating modes: On-Demand and Pre-Dose. In both modes, coffee is ground into an internal weighing chamber, and an automated trapdoor drops the dose into the portafilter once the target weight is reached. In On-Demand mode, the grinder starts grinding when the portafilter is inserted, weighs the grounds in real time inside the chamber, and drops the dose as soon as the target weight is reached. In Pre-Dose mode, the grinder prepares and weighs the next dose in advance. When the portafilter is inserted, the trapdoor immediately opens and drops the dose, then instantly begins grinding and weighing the next one. Separate internal chambers store the programmed single and double doses independently, allowing the grinder to instantly dispense either a single dose or, by combining both chambers, a double dose. By the time you finish tamping, the next dose is already ready. Combined with its thermally isolated grind chamber and internal fan, Pre-Dose mode makes the Izaga W well suited for high-volume use, with grind chamber temperatures never exceeding 86°F–104°F. The protected load cell design is insensitive to vibrations and handling, making the Izaga W especially well suited for coffee carts and trailers—a first for a commercial grind-by-weight grinder.

Markibar's Magnetic Portafilter Identification mode uses small heat- and water-resistant magnets attached to each portafilter. Sensors identify the portafilter before it even arrives at the fork, automatically selecting the correct dose so grinding or dispensing begins the instant the activation switch is pressed. With no portafilter tare time and an internal load cell unaffected by bumps or weight lost from a dripping portafilter, the transition from identification to dosing is effectively zero.
