Hi, I'm Sidra at Prima Coffee and I'm here today to take you through Bonavita 1500 TS automatic coffee brewer. Now, Bonavita has been known to just put out these fantastic automatic coffee brewers and this is another one in their lineup. Now, the 1500 TS is smaller than any of the coffee brewers they've put out before. So, it's only...it puts out five cups of coffee but it also has a smaller footprint so not only is it going to be great for people who want less coffee in the morning, but also don't have as much room in their space. So, like dorm rooms or apartments, this is a great automatic coffee brewer for those situations.
So, let's take a look and see what we have. The reservoir up here holds 25 ounces of water, you just pour it in right through the top. It's very, very easy. It comes with a shower head, which is quite wide, so it's going to be able to saturate all of the grounds at a pretty even pace, so you're going to get some proper extraction there. The filter basket, right here, is cone shaped and it takes a Melitta number four filter. Something like this, just pop it right down in there. It will also take a Melitta number two, but we don't suggest that unless you're in an emergency because it's a little bit too small and so there may be a chance that your brew might overflow. So you just need to watch it if you use a number two filter.
The carafe down here is stainless steel. It holds 30 ounces and the whole thing is heated by an 1100 watt electric heater. So that's going to be able to get your brew to the point where it's about 200 degrees, which is where you need it to be that way you can have the best extraction, you're going to be able to get all the flavor notes throughout your coffee. It's an incredibly important feature with any of the Bonavita automatic brewers and yeah, you're going to be able to get great coffee out of this, which is why we recommend it. So, let's take a look really quickly at the two different settings that this machine has. It's just one button, right here, that controls the whole thing, I'm going to flip it on once. Now, right now, it’s on a full brew mode so it's going to go through the entire brew, it’s not going to stop. It's just going to keep putting water on the grounds and you don't have to babysit it at all, it will just keep going until it's done. It turns off automatically.
Now, the second mode that the 1500, specifically has, is something called pre-infusion mode which is also featured on the 1900 TS, so you might know about it already. So what we're going to do is take this button, flip it back for five seconds, wait until it blinks, just like that. Now it's on the pre-infusion mode and what pre-infusion mode does is that it pulses the water through the shower head that way you're able to let your coffee bloom, it's going to be able to air out some more. So, you're really going to be able to really, really just taste all the flavors in your coffee through using this. So, the way that we know that it's on the pre-infusion mode is that it blinks constantly and it will stay on this mode until you turn it off, or change it. Turn off, as in unplug it or you change it back into the standard brewing mode. To change it back into standard brewing, just click the button back again for five seconds, wait until it blinks... There we go. Back into standard brewing mode. So, there you have it...that is the Bonavita 1500 TS.
