Mahlkonig K30TWIN Twin Espresso Grinder - 2 x 1.8 lb. Capacity is rated 5.0 out of 5 by 2.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from A fine piece of German manufacturing Our Mahlkonig arrived last week. It's a fine looking piece of equipment, was easy to program and set up and in no time we were making superb coffee. It's incredibly quite and grinds a 20 gram shot hands-free in 3.8 seconds. (By hands-free I mean that if you adjust the portafilter holders correctly you simply insert and let go, no need to stand there even those 3.8 seconds and wait). But the most important thing, the thing I didn't really expect, is what happens in the cup. The coffee, which was always very good, got even better--smoother, richer, creamier. We love it.

Hello, For the K30 twin, my concern is if one side breaks for whatever reason, does it affect the other? I need two espresso grinders for my shop, would you recommend I bought them separately? Thank you.

Asked by: airneri
There's a few benefits to having more than 1 grinder. First, like you mentioned, if one goes down you'd have a back up. There are circumstances in which both sides of a twin could go down simultaneously. The K30 standards have 'stepless' adjustment, whereas the twin has 'stepped' adjustment, offering fewer options for grind sizes. The K30 standard also has a much larger hopper capacity.

Is this quiet we are inside a health clinic.

Asked by: Kathy
I wouldn't call it quiet, but it much less high-pitched than a Mazzer.

Rfelb Thanks for the heads up! We're trying to do mobile coffee vending and were looking for something compact/lightweight, do you have any suggestions?

Asked by: mateo
You're on the right track with the K30 Twin, but I would consider a K30 (single) and a secondary grinder for filter coffee, like the Baratza Forte or Mahlkonig Kenia.

Could I have one side grind for espresso and the other grind for a fetco?

Asked by: mateo
Mateo, we would not recommend that. This grinder is not designed to grind coarse enough for batch-brewing and dosing would be difficult to manage.

Could you tell me about how many grams of coffee this grinder retains?

Asked by: Leopold Mozart
According to Mahlkonig, the K30 and K30 Twin retain approximately 4-7 grams of grounds.
