Incredible Consistency, Unparalleled Control

Option-O’s Lagom P64 single dosing grinder is designed to not only give you precise control over your grind size through its fine-pitched stepless adjustment, but also lets you get the ideal consistency with a variable RPM 300W BLDC motor. Ranging from 200–1400 RPM under load you get unique control for a home grinder, letting you take the reins like few other grinders can. The ability to truly dial your machine in is capitalized on by giving you two burr options, both flat 64 millimeter burrs from SSP. The SSP Unimodal-Espresso burrs are perfect for light and medium roasted coffees, focusing on clarity and high extraction yield shots and brews, while the SSP High-Uniformity Espresso burrs work well with a full range of roast levels and tighter brewing ratios. Both burr sets are capable of grinding for anything from turkish coffee to french press, and using that variable RPM grinding you get quality grinds at any coarseness.

Precision Manufacturing

The work put into the mechanics of this machine is well matched by the care put into its construction. The grinding mechanism is all CNC machined from a single piece of 304 stainless steel with extremely tight tolerances. Each piece adheres to a variance of no more than 0.02 millimeters (20 microns), so your grinder arrives fully aligned and stays that way permanently. This is a great feature on its own, but it also allows for you to disassemble your grinder for cleaning and feel certain that when it goes back together you won’t lose your alignment or zero point. Constructed entirely from anodized aluminum and stainless steel, and with professional quality parts like dual angular bearings and a commercial grade motor, this grinder is meant to last for years and years.

Elegant, gorgeous and capable

In the market of high-end home grinders, the Lagom P64 works almost perfectly in every aspects. It sits at a price range that is more affordable than the EG-1 and has way more quality built than Niche zero. It works and looks just like the name that Lagom stand for, which is "just right". I especially enjoy the minimalism look and operation style, the physical rotation speed knob echos to the gauged grind size adjustment on the top creates a harmony looks that sit perfectly aside my espresso machine. For performance, I purchased it with a unimodal burr and found it's preferable under certain conditions such as the EK43 style shot or extraction pressure around 6bar, it can looks messy while extraction due to the grind size distribution. I'm looking forward to try the high-uniform burr to fit in a wider range of coffee bean extraction styles. You can still get a decent shot out of the unimodal burr but it always feeling like lacking of something. The unimodal burr is also recommended for brew coffee like pour since it's categoried as a brew burr, it yield a very clean pour-over taste profile. This maybe preferable for very high-end specialty coffee that cost triple than the regular one that you want to identity and emphasize on the peak flavor note, but for daily brew it's lack of the complexity due to the absence of very fine grinds. Overall, it's a wonderful machine and I'll recommend it with high-uniform burr if this gonna be your only grinder.
