Instead, the KB maintains a consistent water flow rate and heating plate temperature, regardless of the brew quantity. Its brew basket’s drip-stop mechanism needs manual operation, compared to the KBGV’s automatic closure. This smart design prevents post-brewing mess upon basket removal and makes the process of brewing a little more stress free. Sporting a 40oz (10 cup) glass carafe, the KB features 100-minute active heating, ensuring your coffee stays piping hot till the very last drop. Aligning with all Technivorm brewers, the KB is certified by the Specialty Coffee Association, adhering to the Golden Cup Standard. This certification guarantees brewing at high temperatures of 196 to 205 degrees Fahrenheit and a thoughtfully designed showerhead for even extraction of the grounds.
