Hey, Chris here with Prima Coffee Equipment. Today we're taking a look at the Baratza Encore. The Encore is a fantastic entry level grinder for coffee, and there are a couple of things that make it great. It has a very flexible application, for one. It's also extremely reliable and very simple to use. So let's take a look at how you adjust the grind. The hopper up here rotates to offer a full range of grind settings. We have something very close to and even right on espresso in here between zero and a couple of notches there, going through medium fine, medium, medium coarse grind. And then at the other end, we have something, of course, for French press or cupping.

It's a 40 point step scale, to 40, and it really can grind for any of those different methods in between. It especially shines for manual brew pourover and stuff like that. A little weaker on espresso, but it can reach an espresso range. And also a bit little weaker for the coarser brew methods like French press, but again, it can reach that range too. The hopper up here holds about half a pound, and that's what you rotate, the whole thing here, to adjust the grind setting. My grounds bin at the bottom holds about five ounces, easy to slide in and out. I often use this to weigh coffee before I brew.

There's a pulse button on the front for on demand grinding, and then an on/off switch on the side. Twist it, on, twist it to the next step, off. So it's extremely versatile being useful for a full different range of brew methods. Also very, very solid. Classic Baratza durability here. Solid piece of equipment, it's not gonna break down very often at all. The parts are gonna be really easy to replace if you ever need them whatsoever, which is not likely. It's mostly plastic, but a solid plastic, and a simple machine so you don't need a lot of work on it whatsoever.

It's also very simple to use. As you can see, we have this pulse button here, on/off switch, super intuitive there, pull this out, add your coffee, done. Now let's take a look at the inside before we run some coffee. I'll show you what we have here. This is a steel conical burr set. That's for that full range of methods that we just talked about. Really easy to pop out. I've just done it in seconds, as you could see. Put that rubber gasket back on, hopper back on, and we're good to go. On and off in just seconds. So stainless steel conical burr set, about 40 millimeters there, 40 different steps of adjustment, half pound hopper, five ounce grounds bin.

Let's pour some coffee in here, and see what it sounds like. It's a fairly quiet grinder too. So if you're using this in a home setting and you're worried about disturbing others in the home or something, the Baratza Encore did really well. Can you see that it's not terribly, terribly loud at all? And it grinds pretty quick too, about a gram per second depending on the setting that you use. So easy to use, versatile, durable, and we love working with the folks at Baratza.

Easy to get parts, easy to get service if you need 'em, and advice, help, all that. So Baratza Encore Conical Burr Grinder for Coffee, we highly recommend it. We think you'll enjoy it. Thanks for watching.
