The Hario V60 Fretta builds upon the specialty coffee mainstay, the Hario V60, by offering up a new alternative to iced coffee at home. The Fretta, thanks largely to its ice insert and dispersion screen, allow you to brew iced coffee at home without diluting it and losing the flavor notes of the coffee you're brewing!

Enjoy our brew guide equipped with a full recipe, necessary equipment, and step-by-step instructions to help you get started brewing with your Hario V60 Fretta!

Recipe:

  • Coffee dose: 31g
  • Water Weight: 250g
  • Ice weight: 250g
  • Grind Size: Medium
  • Water Temp: 208F

Begin by filling the ice insert with approximately 250 grams of ice, or until it reaches the base of the cone.

Step 1

Next, insert your water dispersion screen and plastic V60 with rinsed filter on top.

Step 2

Add 31 grams of medium ground coffee to your brewer. Shake it to level the grounds.

Step 3

Begin pouring your 50 gram bloom, pouring in concentric sircles to ensure you're saturating all the coffee grounds. Allow it to bloom for 30 seconds.

Step 4

Next, pour another 100 grams of water. When you've reached 150 grams total, give your brew a small swirl to keep the grounds agitated. Allow drawdown until 1:30 or until right above brew bed.

Step 5

Lastly, pour the remaining 100 grams of water resulting in 250g total. Your brew should finish around the 2:30 mark. Remove the brewer, dispersion screen and ice insert and place lid on top. Serve over ice and enjoy!
