Recipe:

  • Coffee dose: 17g
  • Water Weight: 250g
  • Grind Size: Medium
  • Water Temp: 210F

Begin prepping your filter by inserting it into the brewer and rinsing it to remove any paper flavor that may infiltrate your coffee. Pour in your 17 grams of coffee grounds and shake to level them.

Step 1

Pour your pre-infusion of 50g of water. Pour in concentric circles. Stir gently with spoon to wet all grounds and break up clumps.

Step 2

At 45 seconds, add 100 grams of water bringing your total volume to 150 grams. Give the Kalita a swirl to keep the grounds agitated and improve distribution of water.

Step 3

When slurry has drained to bed level, add remaining 100g of water using the same technique as above. Give it a final swirl. Your brew should finish draining between 3 and 4 minutes.
