The OptiPure SX2-21 is a dual-housing water filtration system with two 10" drop-in cartridges: a CTO-10 that reduces sediment, such as dirt, rust, and debris, down to 0.5-microns and reduces chlorine, off-flavors, and odor at a flow rate of 1.5 gpm for 15,000-gallons; and a SCLX2-1 with the chemical-free ScaleX2® technology that inhibits the formation of calcium-carbonate scale. In practical terms, the SX2-21 system will extend the life of important coffee equipment, such as espresso machines and batch brewers, and ensure that water and coffee (the lifeblood of any coffee shop) tastes clean and fresh.

The CTO-10 cartridge should be changed at 15,000 gallons (about every six months) or when flow or water pressure, which can be monitored on the handy built-in gauge, becomes inadequate. The SCLX2-1 cartridge should last one year between filter changes. Replacing the cartridges is quick and easy thanks to the inlet shut-off and depressurization valves. Even so, detailed instructions for installation, operation, and maintenance are included with the OptiPure SX2-21.
