This coarse (BG) burr replaces the stock burr in the Baratza Sette 270 and 270 W grinders. It's designed for better performance and uniformity when grinding in the medium-to-coarse range, from drip to french press. It comes with its own burr holder, so swapping burrs out is a snap. In under a minute you can go from grinding for espresso to grinding for auto drip with no tools needed.

This Burr...

just took the Sette to a entirely new level of Grinder. I love how easy it is to change the Burr, works great for both espresso and pour overs now.

I'm glad I'm able to

I'm glad I'm able to grind coffee suitable for pour overs but I'm not sure it's grinds coarse enough for French press which is a little disappointing.

Coarse Burr installation & review.

The changeover was a breeze, less than 2 minutes with cleaning. The new coarse burr I find does not grind coarse enough as compared to a nominal coarse output of the Encore. That’s my reference since I use the Encore for making Cold brew & French press. My goal was for my Sette 270w to be able to do a coarse grind equivalent to the Encore. Since changing the burr is so easy I could change it when I make espresso. I would highly recommend a large grind output with this new “Coarse Burr” David...

It’s okay...

I purchased a new grinder for espresso. So I decided to try the Sette 270 out for pour-overs. Honestly, the Baratza Encore I have that costs 1/3 the price of the Sette does better. Much less fines.

Still too fine

We ordered this burr because the one the grinder came with was too fine. Sadly, this one is still too fine aswell. We are going to see about having it professionally grounded down to adjust it properly.

The burr has a bit of rust and did not make to much difference

The burr has some rust on the body and it did not make too much of a difference to the Sette 30 AP, still too much fines and inconsistencies. Not usable as a pourover burr at all. I don't recommend Sette 30 AP for pourover at all and the brew burr doesn't make any difference.
