Combining the best aspects of Breville’s Barista Touch and Dual Boiler espresso machines, the Oracle Touch introduces near complete automation to a dual boiler platform, mechanizing the grinding, tamping, dosing, brewing and even steaming. The user is left with only one variable, grind size, to fine tune, eliminating the complexity associated with the usual array of espresso brewing factors. Simply use the touch screen to choose from any of 5 cafe favorite presets, latte, flat white, cappuccino, long black, espresso, or up to 8 of your own customized presets, and the machine will lead the user through every step. This enhancement caters to individuals without extensive training in espresso and milk steaming, providing a guided experience from beginning to end. For those who revel in maintaining control throughout the entire drink-building process, the Breville Dual Boiler may be a better fit for you. This machine is designed for those who prioritize premium drink quality without the need for extensive manual input.
Dual Boiler Operation
The Oracle Touch is equipped with a dual boiler heating system that enables simultaneous extraction and on-demand steam, facilitating the preparation of multiple drinks in succession. Whether crafting a single morning beverage or catering to a group at a dinner party, the Oracle Touch excels in both scenarios. The dual boiler design retains thermal mass for extended periods, ensuring low recovery time and the ability to create numerous drinks. Enhancing temperature stability is an actively heated group head, contributing to consistency and accuracy in brew temperature. This feature also keeps the portafilter preheated before grinding and brewing. In comparison to models utilizing ThermoJet heating technology, the actively heated group allows for hotter extractions right from the start, eliminating the need to soak the portafilter in hot water before brewing light roasted coffees.
Enhanced Features
Tucked away within the Oracle Touch are several subtle features that significantly enhance the overall user experience. A simple locking lever beneath the drip tray effortlessly lifts the machine onto a set of wheels when necessary. This enables users to slide the Oracle Touch back and forth on the counter with ease for cleaning or refilling the reservoir. Additionally, the front-fill water reservoir streamlines the refilling process, eliminating the need to reposition the machine. Inside the coffee grinder is a set of Baratza M2 burrs, a quality conical burr set with 45 grind settings to ensure excellent grind quality and plenty of fine-tuned control over grind size.
