Welcome to the grinder era. In 2013, we witnessed mind-blowing competitions, brain-busting blog battles, and game-changing new gear. And the EK43 got it all started. Mahlkonig's famous grinder has been in the shadows for years, but it's recently sprung into the spotlight and shown its worth. What about this machine makes for such a bright future?

Consistency. The EK43 boasts unmatched particle distribution – that is, consistency in grind size. This means fewer fines, improved cup clarity, and the opportunity for higher extraction yields without bitterness.

Versatility. Sporting stepless adjustment over a wide range, the EK43 is suitable for all methods of coffee preparation. Switching between recipes is easy with the numbered dial and you can even grind for large batches or customers' purchases with the handy bag clamp.

Power. With 98mm burrs and a motor that harnesses the power of almost two horses, the EK43 is unparalleled in performance. Your coffee will go from beans to bits at a rate of 21-25 grams-per-second, or 2.8-3.4 pounds-per-minute.

  • Burrs: 98mm steel flat burrs

Mahlkonig EK43 Coffee Grinder is rated 5.0 out of 5 by 7.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from EK43 My name is Ryan, and I manage the customer accounts here at Prima. I recently added the EK43 to my own brewing arsenal, and I couldn't be more satisfied. The rumors are true - this grinder will take your brewing to a new level. The difference in uniformity of grind is so drastic, you'l find that your trusted brewing parameters will need to be re-examined. It will change the way you brew coffee. One thing I love about the EK43 is how little coffee it retains after grinding. A couple knocks on the bag clamp, and you'l find that only .5g-1g is left behind. Especially for a commercial machine, this is impressive.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Fast, quiet and consistent! We purchased this grinder for our tasting room and training center and it's immensely helped improve cup clarity and flavor. It's grind particle size is extremely consistent and it doesn't hurt that it's a surprisingly quiet grinder as well, you don't have to pause conversation while the grinder is running. Would highly recommend!

Will this grinder do Turkish grind, almost powder, and if so, are the special burrs for Turkish grind included?

Asked by: calle
This grinder comes standard with 'Coffee Burrs', which are not capable of grinding quite fine enough for Turkish. Turkish burrs can be requested at the time of ordering and switched out with the Coffee Burrs. As long as Mahlkonig has them in stock, this adds approximately 1 week to the lead time as well as the cost of shipping for the special ordered burrs. Feel free to give us a call or place your order directly through the website and leave us a note in the order comments regarding the burrs.

will this grind cut and sifted herbs? Is the contact chamber and blades stainless steel?

Asked by: Byron
This particular grinder is not designed for anything other than coffee. We'd recommend contacting Mahlkonig directly for information on their spice grinders.

Hi, I saw some burrs calibration videos on the EK43, when does this has to be made? and that's the same thing you do for pulling espressos?

Asked by: yicarlo24
Calibration is only required if you want to be able to achieve a finer or coarser grind. The EK43 comes from the factory calibrated for filter coffee. If you need to grind for espresso, there are instructions in the manual that'll help you calibrate the machine for a finer grind.
